Who am I?

My name is Eefje van Vlimmeren, and for the past few years, I’ve been happily living in Renkum. From my practice, I support primary school-aged children who are not feeling well mentally, struggling with emotions, or simply just need some extra encouragement.

International children who speak English are also very welcome; thanks to my Dutch-English family situation, I feel completely at ease conducting sessions entirely in English.

About Me and My Drive

My Path to Working with Children

For the past ten years, I have dedicated my heart and soul to the nonprofit sector, advocating for the well-being of children and youth across various countries. This experience has only deepened my passion for working with children. Making even a small difference in a child’s life touches me profoundly and gives my work clear direction.

Making a Difference Close to Home

That’s why I chose to continue my efforts closer to home. Through my practice, I aim to tangibly boost the daily happiness of children in the Netherlands. Every child has an innate resilience; often, they simply need a safe space and a listening ear to rediscover that strength.

Mother of Three Children

Alongside my professional work and studies, I am a mother to three children. They teach me something valuable every day and inspire my ongoing development in this field. Their curiosity, resilience and innate wisdom remind me how privileged I am to guide children in their growth.

How I Work with Children

The child always takes centre stage in my guidance. I use an integrative approach, considering the whole picture: emotions, behaviour, body, thought, and environment. Together, we find what works—in a way that fits the child and honours who they truly are.

Education and Professional Development

I am currently pursuing a four-year training program to become an Integrative Child Therapist at De Nederlandse Academie voor Psychotherapie (Netherlands Academy for Psychotherapy) in Amsterdam.
